The Tiguan is full of technology to keep you connected and safe. The digital cockpit is a true breakthrough. It’s a 12.3-inch digital display located right behind the steering wheel and holds up to four driver profiles and can turn into a wide view map navigation system to get you where you want to go every time. The display shows elevation, time, temperature, the position of the vehicle, and more.

The navigation center is an 8 inch, full color, touchscreen display center. It features access to the navigation system with turn-by-turn information and Sirius XM Radio, which comes out of the Fender® Premium Audio System. This 9-speaker 480-watt amp system creates concert quality sound every drive.
The Tiguan offers Driver Assistance features to keep you and those around you safe. Pedestrian Monitoring is a system that uses radar sensors to alert you with audible warnings when pedestrians are in the forward path of your vehicle. If the driver does not apply the brakes, the vehicle will automatically apply them. The Overhead View Camera gives you a bird’s eye view of the vehicle and any obstacles around by using four strategically placed cameras on each side of the car.
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Safety Features
Driver Assistance was mentioned above in tech features, but many of the features it offers creates a safer environment and peace of mind for every drive. Front Assist can help monitor traffic and will alert you acoustically and visually to a potential front-end collision with the vehicle in front of you. Blind Spot Monitor sees what you might miss when changing lanes and alerts you with visual warnings on the side mirrors and steering wheel vibrations. Adaptive Cruise Control keeps you at a certain distance from the car in front of you while driving in cruise control. So if the car in front slows down, your car will maintain the same distance and accommodate accordingly.
While no one can predict an accident, Volkswagen has engineered to protect in the event of a collision. Automatic Post-Collision Braking System helps slow the vehicle down to reduce further damage and injuries. The Tiguan is also made of a High-Strength Steel Safety Cage to protect you and your passengers. Front and rear crumple zones help absorb crash energy, while a rigid safety cage helps deflect it away from the driver and passengers.
